The Multi-Vendor Marketplace for Shopify is now integrated with another shipping add-on: Ship
What is Shippit shipping?
Shippit is a web-based, multi-carrier shipping solution for e-commerce retailers. Designed to streamline the fulfillment process.
This feature will allow you to ship your goods via multiple carrier shipping methods. Additionally, you can automatically generate shipping labels.
NOTE:
THE Ship The feature app is only available with the Multivendor Pro Plan ($60/month). Additionally, you need to enable the Shipping add-on (free) to the “functional applications” section of the application.
Importantly, access to shipping requires your Shopify store to be on the plan that supports Shipping calculated in real time by the carrier.
Additionally, you can only enable one shipping method in Shippit to calculate shipping rates.
COSTS:
This feature will incur an additional charge of $10 per month in addition to your current Multivendor Marketplace plan.
THE SHIPPIT SHIPPING FEATURE APP IS AVAILABLE FOR BOTH RATE CALCULATION AND EXECUTION.
Facility
The administrator must visit the Multi-vendor marketplace admin panel > click on the three points > and click feature apps. Further away, enable THE Ship feature app.
Additionally, accept and approve the charges:
Configuration: Administrator end
First of all, admin needs to enable this shipping method from shipping setup. So, for that, visit:
Multi-vendor marketplace admin panel > Configuration > Configuring Shipping Methods.
Click on the three points under the Action menu and further, click Enable.
Note: Please only choose the shipping services you need. Do not keep all the services selected otherwise this creates a delay in recovering shipping rates in the storefront.
Next, the admin needs to configure the Shippit shipping method.
So to do this, either click on Set up shipping or go to Multi-vendor marketplace admin panel > configuration > Construction Site Configuration
Configure Shippit
On the next page, configure the following details:
- Sandbox mode: If you want to test the functionality of this shipping method, leave sandbox mode enabled. Remember that shipping labels will not be generated in test mode.
- Enable additional shipping charges: If you want to charge an additional shipping amount to the customer, you can configure it as a percentage or a fixed amount.
- Type of additional shipping costs: Here you can select the percentage or a fixed amount from the drop-down list.
- Additional shipping costs: You can now enter it as a percentage or a fixed amount.
- Allow the seller to set up their own Shippit account: If you want your seller to set up their own Shippit account, you can let sellers add their contact details and fill them out instead of adding the details yourself.
- Shippit access token: If the above configuration is disabled, the admin can enter their Shippit access token provided by Shippit and configure their account.
- The cost of the shipping label is the responsibility of: Choose who will bear the shipping costs, the admin or the seller. (This is an additional cost over what the customer paid.)
Configuration: End of seller
In addition, the Seller can configure Shippit from his panel.
Go to Multi-Vendor Marketplace Seller Panel > Configuration > Configuring Shipping Methods> Enable Shippit shipping:
Additionally, seller can set shipping method as by defaultso that each product created by him has Ship like the default shipping method.
In case the admin has allowed sellers to add their details:
To do this, the administrator will need to enable the “Allow seller to configure their own Shippit account” option from the Shippit configuration on the admin panel.
Once enabled, the seller will have the Shippit Configuration option in the Seller panel configuration menu.
Here the seller can create their Shippit account by entering the Shippit API key provided by Shippit.
Set the default shipping method for products
- For all products (old and new)
- For products that have no shipping method
Otherwise, seller can set shipping method on individual products while adding/editing them.
So, go to the Multi-Vendor Marketplace Seller panel > Products > Product List > Add/Edit Product:
Important points to note:
Configuring global settings is crucial, as the system automatically uses the global configuration if a product’s dimensions are not provided.
So, to do this, click on the Global Configuration menu:
So, from there, the seller can do the overall configuration:
NOTE: It is mandatory to add weight to the product when creating it.
Additionally, please mark required shipping as mandatory for all products. If not marked for a product, shipping will not be applied to that specific product.
Shopify store frontend
Customers will have the option to choose a shipping method based on the configurations set in the backend after providing their information.
End of administration command details page:
Admin can also check their shipping charge commission applied on top of shipping charge as per configuration done by admin in Shippit setup.
To do this, go to Admin Panel > Orders > Order List > Now view the order.
Order execution:
Once the order is placed, the seller will fulfill the order on the seller panel and select Shippit shipping as the fulfillment method.
Go to Seller sign > Orders > List of commands > See (below Action). Select the order fulfillment method as Ship and execute the command.
Note: The prices displayed during order fulfillment change and appear differently in the Shippit dashboard after the order is placed.
Generating shipping labels and printing manifests
Once the order is fulfilled, the seller will be able to see the tracking URL and tracking number on the order detail page.
Additionally, sellers will have the option to generate the shipping label from their seller panel. Additionally, shipping labels can only be generated for orders executed.
Now, if the seller wants to download the shipping label, click Actions > Print Shipping Label:
Additionally, the same goes for printing the manifest, click Actions > Print Manifest:
